    Issues Converting WMV

I have a wmv file that I need to convert to be moved to DVD(s) eventually but there is a problem.

I've tried several programs to convert the wmv file and one of two things happens,
    1. The programs throws an error similar to: "TprogressBar out of range"
      OR
    2. The programs chug for a couple of min and then dump an empty video file.
On inspecting the file and looking at various analysis from some of the programs, it shows that the video has -1 frames. which is very odd, because it DEFINATLY has more then that, its several hours long (and has audio), AND plays properly in Media player classic/WMP the only problem with playback is I cannot seek backwards or forward in the video or jump to a particular point.

My amature diagnosis is that the media file's index is either corrupt or non existent. what can i do to make this thing work?

      Thanks for the welcome!

I've tried many programs to many to name really.. everything from TMPenc to brownbag programs like All Meda Fixer and other obscure programs found while googling.

I will give the utils you suggested a try and see what comes of it.

      Thanks!
