i dont have problem saving the file.

the problem is, i can't play the window media player directly from internet when i open the link to the video.

for example if i click the "300k" link to play the video....it pop-up to "save" it. Last time if i click that "300k" link, windows media player will just pop-up and play the video automatically.

Does that happen with every time you try? Perhaps a visit to Microsoft Customer Service will yield an answer...

Do you have show updates checked at the top of Add/Remove? It may not show if you don't.

Could be a corrupted install by the sound of all the problems.

Windows Media Player FAQ may also help with proper install/uninstall.

i already read that....and still the problem is i cannot see the icon of media player at my control panel- add/remov program.

i try to check for download of windows media player 11 for vista, but i'm unsuccessful.

any body have the link of windo media player 11 (vista) download?

This is the link for WMP11 Vista, I don't know what other WMP11 link you are looking for?

Doesn't WMP11 come installed on Vista? Sounds like something else is wrong, should be compatible.
Can you go into windows components and add/remove it that way?

                    Just an idea....

                    Go to Tools->Options->Network Tab

You may need to check or uncheck the RTSP/UDP box

                    Click on Apply then OK.

                    This was my problem once.

if you will check the download center of your link, you cannot see the WMP11 for Vista....only for XP.

                        i'm using Vista

                          What version?

From what I read you should either have WMP11 on your computer in which case you can reinstall that way, or install this version if you have K or KN version of Vista.

Windows Media Player 11 is designed to work with all editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and can also be used to restore Windows Media Player and related technologies to N and KN editions of Windows Vista.
Windows Media Player for Windows Vista
Included with all language versions of the Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista
It should be installed on your computer like the older versions that are on xp. If it isn't in add/remove windows components then it should be on the install disk.

my OS is window vista business. what is K or KN version for vista? sorry i dont know whats that.

this is a brandnew laps and latest OS. I really dont know why there is no WMP11 icon in the add/remove program.

can i download the WMP XP and install it in my laps. i dont know what will be the problem if i have the WMP Vista installed in my laps and install the new WMP XP.

can WMP XP run in Vista OS and with installed WMP11 Vista?

Unfortunately I don't know about those versions either.

I was hoping for some Vista users to possibly shed some light on this, as I have not used Vista OS.

It might be worth a shot to download and try, but I would look for WMP11 in Add/Remove Windows Components first, or try to reinstall from disk.
