All In One Video Conversion Program

I am running a website that I am planning on putting a lot of videos on. The problem is that all the videos need to be in the same format. So I've tried multiple programs and even bought sorenson squeeze but none of the ones I have tried will work on all video formats. I would like to convert everything to mpeg format, and would prefer a Mac program but if there is a good Windows program it will do.
