    ffdshow is break or no

I use the codec ffdshow to encode my video ,captured by my camera, in mpeg-2. However my video isn’t compress in mpeg-2. I would know if it’s my version is obsolete or ffdshow can`t compress in mpeg-2.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
    <o></o>
Can you help me if not give me an other encoder ( Video for Windows) that can compress my video in mpeg-2 <o></o>
    <o></o>
    Thanks

ffdshow does do MPEG2 encoding, but Virtualdub (and VFW) only allows AVI output. You might be able to capture as MPEG2 in AVI and then mux to MPEG PS with Avidemux.

Or you could encode to MPEG4 or a lossless codec like Huffyuv and encode to MPEG2 afterwards.
