        There is a service mode on those Sony units that require the jig and some software on a PC to enter the alighnment procedures. Plus it requires the very expensive alighnment and diagnostic service tape (around 400 bucks).

        Your best bet is to take it to a certified Sony service center, not just any repair shop unless that any repair shop is an authorized Sony service center with a Sony trained tech that knows what they are doing.
