Odd (?) Problems with Nero Vision Express

Hey everyone, new to the forum, did an extensive search but couldn't find my problem anywhere. These might be easy enough problems, as a matter of fact I'm hoping so, and I'm not sure if this is in the right spot or not. In any event, I'm usually fairly good at holding my own with using these types of programs but admittedly I am not a whiz at them. I use Nero Vision on a VERY regular basis in burning AVI files and movies into DVD's and never had a problem. But recently I "acquired" some avi files that were largely in PAL format, it's actually the complete old school Ninja Turtles series, so I was trying to convert it all to DVD's. One problem I had was as soon as I clicked on add files and chose which episodes I wanted on the DVD, my Nero Vision would just shut down.

My second problem was once I actually got a new version of Nero Vision downloaded, it let me set up and create the DVD fine but once I pressed on "Burn", it would start encoding the first avi file on there, the green bars would go to the end and then it would just stop and not encode the rest, I left it for a couple hours and it just stayed right there. So then I installed an older version and once again I had the problem of the program automatically shutting down whenever I tried adding the files into a new project.

PLEASE HELP, it's really frustrating! Thanks very much in advance!
