    Probably not.http://reviews.cnet.com/video-player...-20389233.html

Why don't you search Google first before posing this sort of a query here?

to test you would have to burn your avi as a data disk, if it's less than 700MB then use a cd, if you have several and they are too big for cd then burn to a dvd, again as a data disk

you would then need to test on a divx capable player, computer drives play almost anything

What would be the most common way to burn XviD and make it compatible with all players?

well you have to make the avi right, standard and all

then burn on good media at a slower speed in a good burner

This is how i made the AVI:

Join the VOB's together into one large VOB. Load that single VOB into VirtualDub MPEG2.

Video Full Processing Mode. Video Compression select the XviD MPEG4 codec and configure. twopass, first pass click OK. As for first pass i went to Audio tab no audio. File save as AVI firstpass.avi. Add the job for later. Video compression again XviD configure this time twopass, second pass. 1500 but didn't touch the taget button. I just entered 1500 then click ok. Now Audio tab source audio. Audio compression. Lame mp3 then select 48000 CBR Stereo. I think i selected either 220 or 224 or 320. I forget. Save as AVI again check the box for job later. Now file job control then start and there we go. Does that sound right?

Hope it was Target Bitrate(and not target size) !!

What is my resolution going to be? Better then Auto GK? Will it be all in green? Will the audio sound like a stracth or broken record?

After all it wasn't Auto GK that screwed over my movie and audio. Why am i using MPC? That was the problem. VLC played it.

if mpc won't play your avi then something is wrong with it or your computer or both

every now and then I run into a problem with nero vision, mpc always plays it tho, if it doesn't then something was wrong with the avi

I don't use any codec packages, ffdshow is good enough, unless nero vision is loading some?

Since you did not use the resize or null transform filters, the video will be in the original resolution i.e 720 x 480. But since the original AR is 4:3 you need to have the avi as 640 x 480( AR=4:3).If you do not resize the objects will look distorted slightly.
As for the green output with AutoGK, I still think it is a playback issue.Install FFDSHOW.Whatever you think,AutoGK is an excellent idiot-proof software. In fact it uses VirtualdubMod to encode. Virtualdub(MPEG2 or Mod) are good if you are comfortable with a lot of configuring and use of filters.

I found out what the problem was with mpc. It has to require a codec. I just got off the phone with my uncle and he told me to install the K-lite mega codec pack and sure enough he was right mpc played. Of course he knows computers pretty well. He can do anything he wants. No he doesn't have a degree. He learned on his own. He has 3 science degrees. 1.) Environmental Engineer. 2) Industrual Engineer and Meterology.
