    correcting audio pitch?

Have a few vids where the audio sounds like the actors just inhaled helium.
I assume the pitch is off.
Can I fix this. virtual dub has been recommended, but, being new to this have not figured it out.
If anybody would be kind enough to give explicit directions I would appreciate it.

    thanks

Load ur file in VirtualdubMod.Then save the audio part separately(Streams/Stream List/Save WAV). Now take this wav file and use some sound editor(Goldwave,Audacity) to make necessary corrections. Then remux the corrected wav with the original using VDMod again.
