Convert DVD on Hard Drive

I have several DVD's on my hard drive that I would like to convert to AVI and convert from PAL to NTSC. I do not have access to the original DVD's, as they were lost in a fire(thank god for backing up). Can anyone suggest an app for this process?

Another forgotten neccesity. Each DVD is episodes of tv shows, so I would like to AVI each episode seperately.
