strange problem in mpg playback

Hello,
I am getting a strange problem while playing back my mpg file which i recoreded from sony digital8 camcoder. All recorded mpg files are working fine except one. When i open this mpg file in media player, video as well as audio gets playback but play progress button does not work. Also i can not seek and move to the specific point of clip. Instead when i click on progress bar , it moves clip to the starting point. Video is 15+ minutes long. Please suggest what is the problem ? Why this play progress bar is not working only on this mpg.

How did you transfer the video into ur PC ? Digital8 camcorder records as DV-AVI and not mpg. How did you get the mpg ? In any case, it seems that the problem file has corrupt frames,which may arise from improper encoding.
