OK this problem has driven me insane.
I have mpeg files from my video capture card. I guess due to the errors during capture, the video and audio stream lengths are different lengths.
If I convert the file using a converter, the audio gets progressivley out of sync with the video as it goes on.
So I treat them separatley. I convert the video to the format I want it in (x264).
I skew the audio (using GoldWave) so it is the same length as the MPEG video.
Then I mux the mkv and the new audio.
The resulting file still has a skew problem. not as bad as if I just convert the file, but its still there and noticable (about half a second).
Anyone know how to fix this??? Any ideas??
Also, is there any program that can give you the length of the video stream of a MKV or MPEG file without taking a long time to open the file? I use VirtualDubMod for this now but it just takes forever to open the video files.
Thanks.
