I'm trying to help an Uncle of mine with his camcorder. He has a Samsung camcorder, model number VP-D-103. This is one that takes DV tapes.
I tried installing it in a PC with Windows XP and the Driver is on the CD-ROM and when I plugged the USB lead in, the speech ballon appeared near the clock about installation and I thought all was going well. As I continued, I was asked to enter the CD-ROM. I did and it started installing the Driver and then this message appeared.
I clicked on STOP Installation of course because I didn't want to mess-up the PC. I tried again and again and the same thing happened. I went into the Control Panel and tried through Add Hardware and still no luck.
Due to the CD-ROM only going as far as Windows XP, I found a Drive at the Samsung web site that of course matches the model number and the Driver at the Samsung web site said "All Windows". I thought Samsung updraded the Driver for Windows Vista as well and when I went to install it it in my Uncle's Windows Vista PC, it seemed to go OK and when I plugged the camcorder in it wasn't detected. Does anyone know what is causing all this. Two PC's with two different Windows and nothing. Most of the time I never get this problem. I must add, my Uncle said the camcorder is about three years old but it should work through Windows XP no problem.
Many thanks.
