Can I convert a *smil file to MP4?

I have some multimedia, slideshow files for RealPlayer that are in *.smil format. They look like a combination of *.rm for sound + *.rp for the synchronized slides.

Is there any way to convert this final product (*.smil) directly into *.mp4 so I can play it on my Blackberry media player?
