    .mkv files problem

Just got a new win 7 PC. I have a .mkv file that is on a second HDD that I installed and it works fine. I have a problem with a .mkv file, MP Classic says it can't render the file, DivX says additional directshow filters are needed. I downloaded k-lite codec pack, k-lite 64 bit codec pack, combined cominituy codec pack (russian), directshow is all up to date.

When this drive and file was in the previous computer it played fine. Other .mkv files will play. Is it possible the file is damaged? ifso is there a way to fix it, it is a motorcycle race 2.93 GB

You could look with MediaInfo to see if the .mkv file that won't play is different from the others. Also you can try SPlayer free player or Splash Lite. Both should play .mkv.

Rather than a ton of codecs you may want to install Haali Media Splitter and DirectShow.

I'd be surprised if SPlayer didn't play it though. It comes with codecs.
