Playing DIVX through decorder card?

I have a creative labs DVD and decorder card. The decorder card has a TV out plug which allows me to play MPG files or DVD movies on my TV.

Is there someway to get DIVX (avi) movies to play through the decorder card? I really don't want to have to convert the movie to mpg first (because of time and extra drive space).
