    encrypted divx?

I've noticed that service based sites (e.g. bluebare.com - porn flix) producing what appears to be encrypted divx files. That site in particular issues a ticket and requires the viewer to use the divx networks "divx player" to access the media. If the ticket expires, the app forces a login to successfully view the (local) file. Is this something particular to the divx player, or is there a standard for encryption / restriction of divx files? Just curious.

    Thats pretty strange...

What kind file do you get ?.

If its an AVI file try changeing the fourcc codes to divx.

Talk about all other file container formats and video codecs in this forum, including Ogg, RMVB, MOV, ASF, WMV ...

The movie sample is only playable in the DivX Networks "Player". I tried loading the clip in mplay32 (I know sometimes you can figure out more about the required codec by mplay32's error response), but it can't determine the device type. When you load the clip in the supported player, you are required to authenticate against DivX Networks to authorize viewing. According to the Player media file properties, it only reports a HTTP/FTP encrypted input, AVI demuxer, DivX video codec. I CAN'T GET ANYTHING ELSE TO OPEN THIS FILE! Either the location is invalid or the file type is invalid. Weird - I wonder what other player / codex combo I could try.

I've run into the same phenomen. The files in question have .divx extension, if you change the extension to .avi, the video plays with mediaplayer but the image is corrupted.
