ok ever since i've installed the divx 5.0.2 codec, my whole computer is screwed up playing divx encoded video. in virtualdub it's slow as a grandmother. in windows media player the audio is fine but the video desyncs. can anyone help? i've tried everything uninstalling reinstalling, reinstalling 4.12 but nothing. it was working SO fine before and i didn't have any complaints. PLEASE HELP!

What's your CPU and how large is the resolution of the video?
A friend had a simlilar prob with a P2-266 which was fine with divX 3.11 but slowed and de-synced with 5.
You've probably already tried this but you could try lowering the quality of playback under WMP file->properties->advanced tab & double click 'DivX Decoder Filter'
Otherwise, if the video itself is not encoded with DivX5 and you selected 'Use DivX5 to play all DivX files' when you installed the codec, you could re-install Div5 disabling this option...
If you're having trouble with files you could play normally before you installed Div5 then i think this is probably the cause.
