See **03 series here. It's a DMA, media or drive issue. Can you burn anything? What about other media - it is conceivable that you have a bad batch of Verbatims.....nothing's perfect (except for Santa Claus).
I was hoping i would not have any problems with it, but you no what they say ---- happens. I didnt stick with the benQ, i got the nec, instead. Monarch Computers, built it, i dont no if thats good or bad. I checked the dma and its

I dont no a thing about it, The burning can burn data c/d's, i been burning the error Logs and transfering them to this pc so i can post them, what a pain, .

the nvidia ide driver work fine for me (on an asus a8n sli) but you can easily UNinstall them for a test and see if they may be to blame (which i doubt)
what about your dma settings for the nec?
and did you try a different media yet?
i tryed fuji and verbatim, and the dma i dont no a thing about that set up the only thing i see in there that comes close to ultra dma is in the parallel ata controller under the tab primary channel theres a box there and its ticked, let bios select transfer mode ultra dma 2 ultra 33 is ghost out. IM sorry yes there mine specs, i changed the benq to a nec
The driver, do you mean file version, somthing about winddk, or am i looking at the wrong thing, and i didnt see anything about pio mode . the driver for the nec is file ver- microsoft corp, 5.1.2600.2180[xpsp_sp2_rtm 040803-2158
let's tackle the NForce ide driver first, I've setup my PIA nvidia
asus computer
go into device manager, open ide ata/atapi controllers
take the main NForce IDE controller(not primary or secondary)
dbl click
properties window
what's the driver version?
