IMGBurn Error burning multiple movies (in queue)

You gotta bad burn. Firmware is a bit out of date, but that shouldn't be a real issue with these blanks. It's normally not a good idea to have 2 burns going at the one time. Just queue em up and write to the same drive.

I have been having good results with this firmware vers., & others seem to be using the same w/o updating to the latest, so I figured I would stay with it for now.

Actually, I was doing one burn at a time, I thought; I followed the IMGBurn guide, adding movies into the queue.

My assumption was that they would burn in succession, one after the other; are you implying that all burners would be going at once? If so, I guess I misunderstood how the queue burning worked...

I am not a big "queuer" (lucky I got that 2nd "u" in there, eh?) but I do know the idea is to just use the one burner. Your first post suggested you selected 2 different drives, but I suspect burn 2 wasn't happening cos burn 1 was running first.

Might just be a bad disk - unusual for these blanks. Very unusual.

Well, I thought it would be a neat idea to queue up 4 movies, & burn them while away. Same concept as using "Multishrink", which btw, I haven't been real succesful with either!

Guess I will play with it a bit & see how it all works out!

@ the TY blanks are the best; I haven't had any playback issues with these at all, I am very pleased with them!

The queue DOES burn one after the other. They're NOT done at the same time.

You were just unlucky and your drive threw a rather generic 'Write Error' at you when it was trying to burn.

TYG02 media being detected as 4x only is a little weird, you should at least try the newer firmware to see if it fixes that.

Update ImgBurn while you're at it too.

you might have had a bad flash with that drive or the firmware is corrupt, is it slaved to another drive, did you flash it?

Katz has the SCSI model of the DW1655
That's why it looks strange.

that makes even more sense if he flashed while the drive(an atapi ide model) was connected to a controller card or using non-standard ide drivers for a mobo chipset

The drive in question has not been flashed by me; that is the firmware that it was shipped with.

It is slaved to another 1655, & yes they are on a controller card! You told me in the past to get the optical drives off of there & put them on the mainboard; I forgot about that until now, so that is what I will do.

The controller card should have two ports on it. Connect the slave up to the secondary port as a master.
I still find it odd that it's being seen as a SCSI.

hardly any controller cards adequately support dvd burners, as I have said many times before, there's a very long thread about it at cdfreaks, a certain sil chipset with non-raid firmware is the only one I have ever heard of that's
any good. Pity

from katz's strange results you can see why now, the reviewers have to be testing many drives for extended periods

OK, it's coming back to me now; It's been awhile since I installed this controller card/ New HD, etc., & I remember running into an issue with it at first, so that is why I stayed with this setup. I did get it working, altho not set up "correctly" as chewy/others have suggested.

So, now that I have tried to set it up properly, I am having the same problem again. The issue: I have a 250 GB Seagate SATA drive that is the boot drive; All works well when connected up as stated earlier in this thread, but when I put the IDE Hard Drives (2) on the card, & the DVD drives on the mainboard IDE 1, upon booting, the pc gives me "NTLDR" is missing.

I can go into the BIOS to configure the boot sequence, but the options are only for the IDE drives. Bottom line, I can't get the sata drive to boot when I have the IDE drives connected to the card. Help!

I know this is moving off the original topic now - should we stay with the same thread or start a new one?
