put the ancient equipment out to pasture.....lite-on dvdrw shw-160p6s ...... $40 walmart....or whatever Chewy recommends....he knows what's up.

thats the one....I was having issues with several things, went out and bought that particular burner, followed some steps about bitsetting and am now having no probs at all. Just have to do some research on here, there is more than enough info out there to help you thru most anything!

should i order the one off of eBay now? i just noticed somthing on it, it says it is internal. would i be able to use it with a laptop?

I can't tell you how to spend your money, but that seems like a good price. Completely up to you on how much you want to spend and how much time and effort you are willing to put into the process of learning all of this. There is an abundance of info here, if you have the time to look for it and read it.


Not trying to be pompous by any means, I apologize if I came off that way. Learning how to do this isn't an overwhelming task, just takes some time and patience and definately the help of the members.
