Arsenal played very well at the start of the game, but as soon as the injuries hit us (Vieira, Cole, Ljungberg, and Bergkamp who was kicked in the last game), not surprisingly, we lost our ways a little. When Ljungberg was injured, we had already used all of our subs, and he basically walked around the pitch for the last 20 minutes or so.

We brough on Edu to replace Vieira, Pires (who has not started the last two matches) for Parlour and Cygan as a left back

A good victory in the end, and apart from the two goals, Newcastle didn't pressure much. No idea what Jenas was trying to do by handling the ball - there was no pressure, and no danger if he had just left it.

And guess what, not even a single yellow card for Arsenal in the whole game, despite so many of our players getting injured - so much for the "dirty Arsenal" theory.

and Bergkamp who was kicked in the last game
ha ha - what mathc would that have been then

Realistically it should have been a draw, but young Jenas!! What in God's name was that. He basically jumped up as if he was playing basketball. Strange. But well done i suppose to Arsenal anyway More to the point - what about the greatest team in England 4 -1 He He

P.S. In relation to other thread - ill play nice since i got a yellow card

Oh and according to my name - under it it says im your boss. Cool

Well Liverpool were beaten 3-2 by Charlton today. Really good game, more like a cup final than an early league game. Poor Harry Kewell had a shot blasted off the post in the last minute, but its great to see liverpool loosing he he he

Man City are playin Spurs now, should be interesting.....

The current listings for 2003/04 have United and Real Madrid in 53rd and 55th place, but its rubbish until we get to the finals of the Champions League and UEFA Cup as well as league standings. They base the standings on the previous 3 seasons, or the current season and previous 2.

I'm constantly surprised that Arsenal are in the top 10, considering our CL form.

In fact, we are seeded fifth in the Champions League for this season's draw for some strange reason. Not bad considering we've only made it to the quarter finals once

And good to hear about Liverpool losing, especially Harry "I want more money" Kewell's miss at the end. Kewell would have fitted in perfectly at Arsenal, either playing in Pires' position or playing up front with TH14. But he had to go to the club that would offer him the most cash ... and then screw Leeds afterwards with some shady dealings by his agent. Rumour was that Arsenal's offer was the smallest, if any offer was made at all - with Wenger only interested in getting Kewell if he came for the right reason (to improve his skills not for the money). Most Australian commentators I heard also thought that he should have come to us, if he wanted to move a step up in his career.

Yeah, Arsenal wouldve been a far better choice for Kewell in terms of progreesing his skills, than Liverpool. But he is always guaranteed to be a first team player with Liverpool and has added quite a dimension to the liverpool game. Gone could be the days of boring Liverpool fotball. Todays match was very good, but i feel that was more Charlton's doing than liverpools.

Here are the top 8 seeds for those interested:

1 Real Madrid CF (ESP) 147.233
2 FC Bayern München (GER) 133.495
3 Manchester United FC (ENG) 125.729
              4 FC Barcelona (ESP) 116.233
              5 Valencia CF (ESP) 106.233
              6 Juventus FC (ITA) 91.334
              7 Arsenal FC (ENG) 90.729
              8 Internazionale FC (ITA) 88.334

Well i watch the Man Utd match there and it was a fantastic performance. We played really good football and maybe even deserved to be 5 or 6-1 up. The only problem i noticed was during set plays. We need to work on getting the bigger players into the centre of the box for set plays. John O Shea and Rio Ferdinand should be dead centre in my opinion and winning the main headers. gary neville is a bit small for winning headers, but he excells in his quick movement as does Silvestre. Its great to have Paul Scholes back in the side and i hope his hernia is away for good now because the range of play he brings to us is out of this world. He set up the first 3 goals basically. Rudd should have scored a double hatrick or atleast 5 goals. That wouldve really shut everyone up

While ManU were good, you have to consider the opposition.

Last season, Arsenal beat Manchester City , Southampton, Leeds, Sunderland, PSV and Birmingham (and probably some other team I've forgotten) by scoring more than 4 goals, but it doesn't really mean all that much in the final result of things.

What does matter is winning at home against top of the table teams, and not losing away to them. If we can draw against Liverpool and beat Chelsea, then I think that's a great result, considering we've been pretty much crap except for the 4-0 thrashing of Boro.

But right now, there's the little matter of the Champions League to worry about.

I think you should manage a better result than a draw at liverpool. I think its more likely to be a draw at Chelski than at liverpool, but who knows. Yeah your right, the season is completely open still and will be for a good while after christmas. It will be a good season i feel.

An 0-0 draw for Arsenal against L. Moscow, not bad considering the oponents that Lokomotiv have beaten in the past, including Deportivo, Bayern Munich, Ac Milan and Real Madrid. It was all Moscow from 15mins right up to the close of half time, with 3 chances of goals. However, the second half saw Arsenal play better football, a few close chances nearer the end of the second half, but overall, Arsenal will be glad to get through it in my opinion. Atleast a point is better than none. Arsenal are now on 1 point after two matches. A thrashing by Inter Milan didnt do them any good, but they do look better. Interestingly enough, the last European trophy Arsenal have won, was the fair play trophy - Ironic dont you think

Well, i just watched an amazing game of football - celtic versus lyon. Celtic won 2-0 with a very immpressive performance. Both goals were set up by Henrik Larsson, a great striker. Celtic need to spend a touch more money on players and they will win the SPL league no problems. Here are the rest of the results from todays Champions league ties:

                            Anderlecht 1-1 Bayern Munich
                            Celtic 2-0 Lyon
                            Inter 2-1 Dynamo Kiev
                            Lokomotiv 0-0 Arsenal
                            Deportivo 2-0 PSV
                            Monaco 4-0 AEK Athens
                            Galatasaray 1-2 Real Sociedad
                            Olympiakos 1-2 Juventus

Screw the CL. We're not going to win it, not this season, and I don't get to watch any of it anyway, unless Arsenal lose badly and Sky shows the "highlights" all freaking day.

lol - do i detect a bit of flailing support for your team. In your teams darkest hour you should be standing up supporting them, not saying, screw that competition, we wont win it anyway. thats a defeatis attitude. However, in saying that, i would hazard a guess at you being right lol. United stand a fair chance of winning as do Real Madrid and Juventus and AC Milan. But apart from that, bar maybe Inter Milan, i dont really think anyone else does. Not chelsea anyway.
