are people allowed to back-up rental DVDs?
I was shopping for a new DVD driver at BestBuy this morning... my old one just stopped working last night..
The BestBuy guy asked me what I was looking for. He
grabbed a new Sony burner for me. I also picked up
two 50-pack blank Fuji DVD-Rs(on sale for $14.99 each)
As I was paying for it, he said "you plan to burn DVDs you
get from Netflix or something?" Then it hit me.. do people
do that? I've never tried rental DVDs because I buy them
from Costco at pretty good prices. Then I make back up
copies and put the original ones away.
Wouldn't Netflix(or other rental places such as Blockbuster)
know that you've made copies of the DVD?
