Cro Cop does look pretty awesome and unbeatable \ but so did Silva until he got annihilated by Cro Cop.

Not sure but that's what I thought I heard once.

BTW Hughes retained his title with a third round KO of Penn. Penn dominated in the first two rounds, as he did against St Pierre, but faded in the third, as he did against St. Pierre, but this time Hughes KOed him. Hughes vs. St. Pierre next.

Fedor and Cro-Cop have tosseled before with Fedor coming out ahead in a decision. As good as Mirko looked I still don't think he has what it takes to beat Fedor. Should be interesting though. I just wonder what Silva's loss will do with the Liddell fight?

I was as giddy as a little girl at the end of the second round when BJ almost submitted Hughes...I didn't see Penn gassing as badly as he eventually did, but it was an excellent fight non the less. I thought that Penn really did have Hughes number and think that a rubber match is a must.

I think that there will be a rubber match between the two eventually, but Penn is gonna need to be in better condition than he's been in against Hughes and St. Pierre. He might just be so confident in his Jui Jitsu that he doesn't seem to train for longevity?

              I'd watch a rematch.

BJ Penn has made a statement that he separated his ribs in the second round and was trying frantically to end the fight in that second round. He claims that the separated ribs hindered him in the third round, basically rendering him defenseless against Matt Hughes' strength.
I'm not sure what separated ribs feel like, but he sounded as if he felt he would've won if it weren't for that. It could just be excuses though.
If it really was separated ribs, then I definitely believe there will be a rubber match. However, if it was just an excuse, then I see no future rematch being offered to Penn.

I don't know about that......If he had separated ribs he wouldn't have even been able to breath, let alone throw a punch.

In an earlier interview Penn said that he only trained three weeks for the fight. Regardless of his talent, I really don't like his attitude toward the sport. He lost his first fight back in the UFC, and still gets a title shot?? And then takes the champ lightly.

If Penn put some effort into training rather than stroking his ego, I believe he would be a seriously dominant fighter at welterweight. He has mad skillz and a lot of ambition, but a little lacking in the commitment.

If he still plans on winning all three belts (lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight) he had better step it up a few notches.

I think that was all the notice he was given that he was going to fight.

It was announced to the public 4 1/2 weeks prior, and at that time he said that he was training for a different UFC bout in October.

I was just curious if he wanted to look more nonchalant about the fight by saying he barely trained?? Every other contender trains year round, regardless if they have a big fight carded. Talent will only get you so far.

It's hard to see if BJ Penn was incapacitated by separated ribs as he is saying or he just gassed out trying to finish Hughes off in the second round. I tried to see if I could tell but couldn't.
I personally believe Penn since it would be hard to medically fake separated ribs. Who knows, but I'd watch a rematch of him against either St Pierre or Hughes.

Silva really disappointed me with Cro Cop, but i do like Cro Cop very much. The fight i would love to see is Cro Cop and Tim Sylvia, although i know it probably will never happen. I like Matt Hughes but am glad some people are finally catching up to him. Still haven't seen the fight, but from the sounds of it the whole night was great.

Feels good to be back guys. Had a heck of a time moving and computer crashed. Built my own system and i am back for good.
