I had a few VCD's and I didn't bother backing them up as the were appalling and not really much better than VHS.

I can't remember my first CD-R burn or when it was. My first CD-R burner was 2x speed and was £300. A CD would take 25 minutes to burn just 650MB. It came with some CD ROM games including Mad Dog McCree 1 and 2. I remember being amazed by the video in the game. Thinking about it. I got the burner before I moved into my current house so it must have been before 1996. I think it might have been sometime in 1994 as well as I had been using it for over a year before I moved.

I stil had the CD-R's from back then up to a couple of years ago. The discs detoriated so much that a hole was made all the way through and I could see through the disc.

More info about 1.04 revision history here.

I do have all the other versions though including the betas.
Yeah, I think I have most of them but I don't have 1.04.

      Maybe someone can help us.

I am still thinking it was nero, My back up that had that dec 1969 was from a few years ago with an older version of nero. I actually found a few older burns with that same date on them now.

Nero uses the system date when burning. Could the Windows clock have been wrong?

Mill and PA probably had W2k hangover bugs.

Too bad we can't blame it on sonic.

If it was to do with Y2K then it must have been like that for a long time after the year 2000 as the hardware and discs were too expensive back then.
