I used Lab Pro to create the Generics in Simplemenu folder. A menu created from any authoring package DVDStyler, Lab pro, tempenc etc can be imported via TW (as long as it works). I created a basic .swf file awhile ago showing basically how to do it in Lab Pro (about 200$). The problem is you need a full authoring package to do this. Menu creation in Lab Pro can be as advanced as you care to make it.

Just uploaded to the site under CreateaMenu -- extract and click on the html

      Newbie TW DVD Text question

Newbie question... I just got a Sony 400 disc player. All I'm looking to do is simply create a DVD (using DVDshrink) that is just a main movie(no menus or anything) with DVD text so the player can display the title. I've tried unsuccessfully a couple times. I copy to my my hard drive>Open with Titilewriter>Change the volume name to the title>burn with DVD Shrink through TW. My Sony says "No text"...Am I missing something in the process? Do I need to specifically change the main movie title? Any thoughts are appreciated.

      Thanks

        Wrong order
        DVDShrink will wipe out dvdtext

Shrink First>>Open DVDShrinks target folder in TW>> Make Changes>>Save Changes>> and burn the result

            I'm looking for testers
Just created a Customizable Vmg Generic Menu creator for up to 99 titles
Selectable backgrounds(720x480 bmps, jpgs),thumbs, text, fonts, transparancy, frames or icons (As buttons) with TW's "normal Generic as Vts menu"
User can of course alter to Original menus as normal
I want to test a bit before general release

            Please only "knowledgable" people respond

            PM if interested

I tried to use TitleWriter 4.0beta.
Its new function that creating VMG Menu is very nice. Thanks for the new feature.
When default setting, threre is no problem.

Below is what I thought when tried all settings,
*(1)There are two "Inset Canvas". I think the first means the size of Button Image, and the second means the size of Thumbnail Image.
My understanding is correct? or other meaning?
*(2)These setting is not reflected if not selecting thumbnail by the slider after change value.
*(3)The first value is restricted from 0 to 100, and it warns if other value.
But when (1) and (2), warning is not disappeared and can't continue procedure.
*(4)The second value seems not to be reflected. (any value has no warning). But big value causes wrong aspect ratio.
Is there the range of value which should be?
*(5)When selecting thumbnail by the slider, I can't select it with looking at the image. (The image is not shown when operating the slider.)
I prefer to be able to select thumbnail with looking at it.
*(6)About Font size, results is different from selected size, it is bigger than selecting size. (for example, when selecting 18, GUI shows 24.)

              Sorry to poor English.

              Best Regards.

                Your English is fine

Just Uploaded a whole bunch of fixes a few minutes ago --includes Play All

And tried to make the gui a bit clearer

*(1)There are two "Inset Canvas". I think the first means the size of Button Image, and the second means the size of Thumbnail Image.
The Background insets The area TW uses to draw buttons, text thumbs etc from the edges of the overall menu

The Menu button inset Will inset thumb nails x amount from edge (these numbers are the "frame widths" in pixels of the Background and button images

A zero value may cause the thumbnail to completely overwrite the button frame (useful when using the "starburst" button as an icon -- bigger thumbnails or when the frame is selected it may clip the thumbnail)

*(5)When selecting thumbnail by the slider, I can't select it with looking at the image. (The image is not shown when operating the slider.)
I prefer to be able to select thumbnail with looking at it.
Fixed (I think) --- No Kidding (thats the way it's supposed to be)-- I was moving things around -- I think I screwed up the Registry path to the viewer when I dumped it from TW root to TW\tools
I imagine preview wasn't working either
                Me Bad

                Fixed Font size --Silly error

Added a few traps for bad inset ranges

Yes I forsee a fairly long html help page when things settle down

Thanks for the new version. I tried to use TitleWriter 4.01beta.
                  old:
*(1)It becomes to show each meaning(Menu or Thumbnail), and be easy to use. Thanks.
                  *(2)It is fixed.
                  *(3)It is fixed.
*(4)It becomes to warn except for 0 to 100, and seems to be no promlem. Thanks.
*(5)It seemed not to be improved. (The image is not shown when operating the slider.)
*(6)It seems to be fixed partly. But GUI shows 10 times value of setting.(for example, when selecting 24, GUI shows 240.) But there seems not to be the actual problem.
                  new
*(7)It is impossibe to open file in "Audio".
(I corrected by using old ver.4.0beta. It is also impossibele to open file, but possible to correct spelling directly.)
*(8)About "Inset Thumbnail Images", it is possible to set different values with each button, but the result is same about all buttons.
Which is author's intension whether possible or impossiple to set different values with each button?

And I noticed added nice feature. Thanks.
*"PlayAll button". It is very useful.
*"Apply To All"(setting of button). It is very useful, too.
*"Draw Button Image Around Thumbnal" is not available when "MenuButton" (in Menu Button is) is selected.
In ver.4.0beta, it is available and has a little proplem. (It is never highlighted.)

                  Regards.

The viewer is bugging me the most can't reproduce what you don't see
(I can't get it to fail)

In MenuMaker try browsing to a jpg/bmp file (any will do) for thumbnail -- does it show up in viewer

                    What does preview show

When you save and apply menu are thumbnails visible in played menu-- I mean do they have a picture

Look In TW install folder -- Does it contain "snapshot.bmp" file should be the last view Tw dealt with

Yes I'm not supporting Audio quite yet -- want to get the video nailed down
before I step off that cliff

#8 is going to take some work yes it should be adjustable and no it isn't
May have to redesign that section

My logic on Draw frame around button is if frame is the button you can't (obvious) deselect it --You only have the option to Show/No Show frame if the thumbnail is the button

It may be that I can't describe correctly what I want to say about preview.

Preview shows image which will be applied for menu's thumbmail, and TW install folder contains its "snapshot.bmp" file.

What I want to say is that preview doesn't change while moving slider and its image is able to be confirmed only after moving slider, so I can't select with looking at.

                      Regards.

Now I understand -- the preview window is not a dvd player
The slider selects a point based on percentage of the vob -- the viewer the searches for the next navpack and displays it.

--you can hit play icon - stop when you like the image noting the position but you may not be able to select that exact image within the thumbnail viewer
(also you can right click within the player and save the image)

Or Capture the image from most software players and load it as a bitmap.

The snapshot module is primarily used in TW to display image And Button rectangles.

The Still images captured are taken at certain type of navpacks within the vob -- these points contain full image information and button information -all frames are not decoded.

You could use the Viewer Right and left step function to move around within the vob navpack by navpack

I suppose I could capture the offset from the player stop and apply to the Menu thumb

No I can't do that the numbers are local to pgceditpreview not TW

And TW will never contain the code to "Play" a vob (I'm using PgceditPreview to capture the images from the vob). your best choice is to use slider to get close and the step right/left to find select a frame-- usually there are enough navpack frames to make a decent choice

                            Thanks for the reply.
I understood TW's preview is different from the PgcEdit's function of still image capture.
I misunderstood they are same. (PgcEdit can select still image wth moving slider and looking at image.)

About *(6), it seems to have the actual problem.
There is no problem just after correcting font size even if shown as 10 times.
But next time TW failures to process and shows message "Failure".
It need to set font size every time after changed once.

                            And I additionally tried about 4 and 5 titles.(Previous was 3 titles)
*(9)When 4 titles, second main menu which has no button for selecting titles is created, and it is impossibe to back to first main menu by next button.
*(10)When 5 titles, the size of button in second main menu is different from first main menu's one. Is it author's intention?

                            Regards.

                              Fixed #6
Fixed #9 -- Good catch -- My tests were on 3,5 movies I feel dumb
#10 yes that was my intention (otherwise the page looks a little bare)
(the same will happen with 1 movie)
Busted zoom somwhere during all this -- Fixed
Fixed -- Intermittent crash --Windows exception in between processing multiple compiliations(I hope --I've Been trying to track this one down for a long time -- never showed up in Debug)
Fixed -- Individual frame insets will be properly applied
Altered Button Image to all will apply to all images
Added Button to apply button options to all

Fixes farther down -- just drop on old TW

Thanks for the new version. I'm surprized at its quickness.
                                I tried to use it.
                                summary;
                                *(1)to(4)These was already fixed.
*(5)I understood it is TW's feture.
                                *(6)It is fixed.
*(7)I understood Audio is not supported yet.
                                *(8)It becomes to available.
                                *(9)It is fixed.
*(10)I understood it is TW's feture. (I prefer all buttons(thumnails) are same size when 5 titles.)
                                new;
*(11)When "Apply TitleWriters Generic Vts Menu to this movie" is off and "On Button Pressed Play Vts Root Menu" is selected, button's
function in not created. (button's image is created), this problem is natural. It can be processed, but I think responsibility of
                                failure is on user.

And thanks for other nice feature.
*"Preview". It is very useful for pre-confirming size adjustment of image and thumbnail and highlight. I outputed for confirming
                                before.

                                Regards.
