Well, I have tried and tried at this Nero site and have my version registered with Nero and i click on the package 2 and get the error message " The page cannot be displayed" and in the Task Bar "cannot find server."
This is the very same problem I had on Sunday, when I had to disconnect my Router and disable sp2 to do a d/l and when I clicked on the program icon here was nothing there and it corrupted my Any Dvd, OE, IE and a couple of other programs. Not only for me but also for the software techie who tried to d/l.
I believe that I need package 2 and 5 (for the nero player)
I tried logging in to see if that is the problem and it takes to the latest edition .4 which I don't want as I use Shrink.
It says to try other sites, but I am afraid to see what may happen at the other sites.
3 others here have tried on different computers and get the same errors???
Again this is me >>> . I feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall and getting no where and I don't want to corrupt the main 6.6.0.18 that I was successful in getting from your forum and it works.
Any experienced ideas as to why this is happening??? And how I may go about getting these other packages or am I simply locked out of them??
I just don't get it>
Why did your 6.6.0.18 Link work for me then???
Baffled!!!Comment

Others wouldn't be able to do anything because that OEM number is registered to your drive. I just tried this link & had no problem whatsoever.

The sofware techie and the 4 of us who are all registered with Nero tried again and can' seem to see the "bar" that Chew says is right beneath the address.
Our Serial numbers are all different and were registered when we bought our BenQ 162I burners and the Customer phone support at BenQ said to register them and we did.
We all have done a couple of d/l's before to update our versions and can't remember what version that they were and things went fine then.
Now??? What I can't understand is how I got and all the others got the main version of Nero from your thread without a hiccup!! and did burns and they were great.
This time we even tried the other site which was San Jose, the option that Nero gives in case the other site is busy and it appears to slowly d/l with the green blocks slowly moving and the Window opens and shows the package 2 there and an ad for Ultra 7????
Where did the 6.6.0.18 thread that we did the d/l come from??
And Chewy if I may ask another stupid mundane question, where is that drop down under the IE6 Address that I should click to D/L.
All I want to do is to have package 2 and the package 5 Media Player.
I sincerely thankyou on behalf of all 4 of us who will struggle here tonight to see if we can get these 2 packages operable, but even we can't even d/l them how can we install.
I hope that you can answer the above queries and that we can forge ahead with the problem.
Respectful Regards, with many thanks for your patience.
If it was only me that had this problem then I would think it is something stupid that I have done. But there are 3 others as well.
Again thankyou from Northern British Columbia!!!Comment

My recommendation (and Chewy might agree) is to first off buy a new drive. Yours is a POS. - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152076
Second free up some RAM, you evidentially have way to many programs running in the background. Go here to learn how to exit them properly: http://www.digital-digest.com/articl...ces_page1.html
Third you need to buy some better blank media. Get some Verbatims - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1083711426863Last edited by jmet; 14 Nov 2006, 02:23 AM.Comment

Thanks a million guys,
I'll try your suggestions tonight when I get home.
but if everything fails, do you guys know how can I prove to the Geek squad at bestbuy that my burner is not working. Because if this is the case, my laptop will be considered a lemon and I'll get a new one as a replacement.
Thanks,

Yes, Chewy was correct. Since you have a laptop, my recommendation (and his evidentially) is to buy a external case and put a DVD Drive in it or you can actually buy a external DVD burner (although it is more expensive).
I actually used my old NEC 3520 and bought a external case and hook it up to my laptop. The only regret I have in doing that (and it was my fault) was that I didn't buy a external case that was supplied with power by the USB cable.
Here is the case I bought: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817145346
If you actually think about it, buying a drive and a external case is cheaper than buying a "External DVD Burner". The case was $36 and the DVD burner cost me $35. So for under $75 I have a external DVD burner I can take where ever I take my laptop.Comment
