qsuit scan is not reliable, 1 minute in between is not a problem?

mine 40 like + mine 55 like -, both of mine 40 is primary and 50 and 55 is second, why dont you burn one file with both burner and scan see if they are significant different in the quality scan?

My apologies ... I had that tool ... but since I hardly use it ... I goofed.

Anyway, here it is my Infotool Text ... alos, notice it is reporting "ASPI Installation Corrupted" can I just download "wnaspi32.dll" from NERO and drop it in the appropriate folder?

the pioneer can't do a QS, but it did the TRT. scan disc came back 100% too. the lite-on did the QS.

that is not a good burn, I think you need new burner

the disc played fine even on my finicky toshiba. i wonder how one would turn out if i updated the FW on the lite-on.

if you burn with the pioneer then change the FW on light on will not effect the scan, I had few disc that below 50 still can play but sooner or later you will not be able to play that when it go lower and lower, if you mark it and scan it a year from now you will see what I mean

what i mean night is this, if i update the firmware on the liteon (it's out of date a wee bit) and use THAT to do the burning and scanning, i may see better results, yes? you answered my other question though if updating the scanning drives' firmware will improve scan, so it does not. ty

anyway, i'm not going to change any of my routine, as long as the disc don't skip on my toshiba, it's a good burn to me. that's how i scan. it's a very picky player that pukes on the slightest flaw whereas other players don't even see the skip. this is a specialized end of the hobby and you fellars are good at it. the time it took me to do these scans was almost unbearable today. i hope it's another year untill i do it again. if some of my discs fail in time, it's a real black mark on the dvd industry and i'll burn them again or light them all on fire (except for the columbos) and get a new hobby

LT scan at 4x like I said earlier, you are graphing read errors, but since a lot of the bad pif's are early in the scan they will still be there.

the liteon may be wearing out also

that pioneer is probably worth much more as a reader/ripper than as a burner

bet it reads better than a benq or lg

ok,

1) you mean where it says "speed" under settings? all options i had were either maximum or 8x. would FW update (on the L.O.)change this? i certainly don't know.

2) it certainly may be wearing out, i must have about 700 or more burns on it.

3) who knows? maybe at christmas time i'll get a new burner, i am planning on getting a 3rd pc too around then. something quite current. i'll be sure and talk to santa

burning and scanning is my routine , dont have any thing that 99 yet because one spindle is 50 or 100 but 95-98 is fine with TY or Yuden I dont want to throw away after three year with some of the Verb I had

funny how that thread died with all you scanning geeks! how quick is a quick scan anyway chewy? it really bugs me there is no firmware update for this pioneer, can't even scan. the drive is basiclly still a virgin!
