Yes my friends I have to get ready to say a fond fairwell to my long time companion of 2 years. I have been informed my hp has met with certain writer death to come. Therefore I'm forced to look else where for companionship. So I have come to my DVF family for future writer alternatives. Any suggestions would b greatly appreciated in such a horrific time of need. D@mn I would have made a good actor. hehehehe.

I love my LG (not one bad burn - ever), I know lots others peeps who love NECs, I think LUK has a partiality to Plextors.

Pioneers are worth a look also, along with NEC. Both are very reliable in my opinion.

I have to two 3550 and I have never burned a coaster yet using TY's. They burn like a champ.

Night might have gotten a lemon NEC, mine, when new burned some of my best disks on TYG01, TYG02, YudenT02 and Verb MCC004.

above 8X was horrible tho.
