https://it's still a good deal thoug...e cost of gas. Do you have a library near you? They probably have movies, like mine does.
BTW, why not use Blockbuster online? It's supposedly only $10 a month and you get a free in store rental every week, for those of you who are concerned about that stuff. Also if you work there you get free rentalsCYA Later:

I was sent a form to fill out to get on the class action suit.
If we win, we get 5 DVD service, instead of 3, for a year free!
I am sure if you dig,you can find a way to get on the list. If I remember correctly, you did have to have a membership before a certain date.
It sounds worth it to try to find how to get on the list.Comment

Don't hold your breath waiting on that extra dvd, the FTC pretty much nixed that deal. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060111-5951.htmlComment

That would explain why I have been getting 8 DVD's a week more often instead of 4Comment

I usually get emails from Netflix saying they've received
the DVDs I just dropped off by 10AM. Not really sure how
they do this. Whenever they ship DVDs to me, I get them
by noon the next business day.
Back to the OP's question. Yes, Netflix will "blacklist" your
account if you return too many DVDs too quickly. This is
especially true if most DVDs on top of your list are very
popular or have just been released.
My solution around that is getting a new Netflix account
every 2 to 3 months. I either use my home address, or
three of my office address in my building. Just make sure
to use different credit cards, otherwise they'll figure out it's
the same person.
The added bonus of this is that Netflix will usually give you
a discount when you close your account, in order to try to
keep you as a customer. For example, I had my most
recent 8-DVDs-at-a-time account since October. I called
Netflix on the phone and said I wanted to cancel.(which I
really did, because I was going to set up another acct)
The rep kept asking me if I wanted to say... I kept saying
no... then she offered me 50% off for the next 3 months
and I finally gave in. I was paying $47.99 for the 8-DVD
plan. Now I will only pay $23.99 for the next 3 months
for the 8-DVD plan. What a deal... It's just like what
the cell phone companies are doing. I recently got a new
Motorola RAZR phone after telling my currently cell phone
company that I wanted to switch to a different carrier.Comment

I never get my DVDs by mail from any company. Just as easy to stop by the video store and pick one up. We have Family Video stores out the arse in the city I work in. They have good selection, usually plenty of new releases, and good deals . There are about 10 Family Video's compared to 3 Hollywood Video's, and only 2 Blockbusters (were more Blockbusters but Family Video has about run them out of town) Every new release on T,W,Th, gets free nearly new, or older movie. For $9.99 1/2 price rentals for a month. That makes a new release $1.30 plus a free $1 (nearly new) movie. Only bad point is there are late fees. New releases are 1 night rentals unless you pay for more, all the others are 5 day rentals.
Oh yeah, there is a rental store, Bad Girls Video too!!!

Kim Kammando talked about Netflix one show. She said it's not that their suspicious when you return to many dvd's; it's that they know they have you hooked as a customer and they put you more toward the back of the line, and put newer customers at the front to get them hooked.Comment

I've had a BB and NF on-line account. I only had one problem with a damaged NF disc. NF has a much better music selection then BB.
The squeaky wheel will get the oil. If there is a problem with either BB and NF, always call! Complain!CJ
