I hear ya on the kids hands.
For me I make the cases look cool for the backups on my sons movies. He keeps those in his room on a Shelf that hangs in his wall. That way when his friends come over it is easy for him to pick a movie.

Back ups I make that my son dosent watch I keep in a cd album to save the space.

The originals I keep locked in a closet off of my office which is the size of a small bedroom with no windows. LOL

That way no one that comes over can steal them or damage them.
In the past my son has had sleep over parties with his friends where DVD's seemed to grow legs. LOL

I just use a couple of CD wallets for my backups. I don't really have the space to double up on all the full size cases.

I have a lot of DVD's in 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 disc cases. I do it mainly with TV series original DVD's as well as homemade DVD's (mainly from TV recordings. I use custom covers.

If I make backup of a film DVD. Then I scan the cover.

Most of the cases in this pic on the middle and bottom shelf have either 6 or 7 discs inside and each one only takes the space of two single width cases.

I think i'll just buy those cd sleeves and put them there

Do you guys even bother to print the cover and shrink it and slip it in the sleeve

or just write the name of the movie on the dvd?

I used to make a print in the shape of the DVD to put in the cd/dvd album. but them I got tired of all the time and printing.
I just write the titel in the center ring of the disc now.

I print all of my covers and just right the name of the movie with a black sharpie on the disc itself.

I used to print labels for the discs. I was one of the lucky ones that never had a problem with them. I still have DVD's that have labels and are over two years and still play fine. I don't do it anymore as I just can't be bothered and just write the name on them.

                          They are both UK DVD's.

There are two collections. One is the Captains Collection and the other is the Ships of the Line Collection.

The Star Trek covers can be downloaded from here.

                              Hi Jmet,

Nice job. Are those covers all printed? From scanned images of originals?

                                Sorry Jmet,

Another question - Do stores like Blockbuster, Hollywood etc throw off the original DVD cases before storing in their own locked cases?

                                Thanks
