How exactly does it get in one's sig?
And couldn't Admin just say that if that code is there, delete it? Like auto-delete it?CYA Later:

It seems that it steal your cookie when you visit lycos.
Please again everyone - delete your cookies and temp internet files. You might like to turn your sigs off in your control panel. Also inititiate cookie control through "prompting" you on first party cookies.
We will get this thing stopped, but casting blame and ordering people to take down their sigs is just flaming. Quite frankly drf, I think you owe Jack Lurker a big apology. You've already got a healthy dose of reds for your attitude.

Sorry Jack, didn't realise it wasn't you. I didn't realise that it was infecting other people's sigs too. I wasn't ordering, more suggesting. Sorry if you misinterpreted it.CYA Later:

So was the target for all of the members that had a lot of links in their sig.?
And then every one that clicks the links? OMG that would be a lot of new members looking for info, by clicking the links.Comment

Well, you don't even have to click it to make it do it's thing... so it's worse in a way.
Good thing there is a solution.
And, the page it directs to/the file the sig contains has a trojan in it. Luckily if you hit back or close the window nothing happens, and it doesn't download itself.
I really love McAfee's web-scan now.CYA Later:

Well I looked back in cookies and I still had another lycos one, and deleted them for the fifth time, cookie control is a pain but so is losing all the good ones, like logins and passwords to forums. I am viewing every cookie as I accept or deny them, it's a very educational experience.Comment

Wow I am not that educated about cookies... I just cleared all mine and used "remember me" again.
I also know that cookies taste good (not the computer kind!)CYA Later:

Wasn't that a hell of a ride!! Like I mentioned before, I have no idea how a forum site works but that was an eye-opening circumstance. Looks like no members had too much of a problem, so that's good.
Just were nuisanced a bit, like trying to swat away a 'gnat' or a 'mosquito'.MBK
