ok beating me head into a wall again

I got the new burner installed and it seemed to be doing great! got one good burn then one more good burn.

Now I cant burn DVDD and Imagburn both say no writers detected.
now what do I do?

Ask windows to redetect the hardare.

Update the firmware.

What burner? Connected to IDE or with an external box? Have you checked cables? Do you have a sufficient PSU? Do device manager show any yellow markers?

check bios, my computer, device manager, ide and power cable if internal drive.

I checked divice manager , cable seems to be in all the way, they are the same way as they were with the old burner.

What IDE drivers do you have?

nVidia, VIA, or intel IDE drivers can cause problems. Can you uninstall IDE drivers and reboot leaving windows reinstall standard microsoft ones?

Edit: you posted before than me. I suggest to uninstall Via drivers. Often this solved problems

I am not sure what software u r using, But i would uninstall burner soft ware via its own unistall, then reinstall.
prior to re-install do a clean disk, and defrag, if your adventurous, check the registry and delete the software references.
