Power DVD will play divx encoded movies!

UncasMS I have been playing divx movies on power DVD for a while now. As for WMP- upgrade to XP get the new WMP you won't be sorry. I cannot understand why more people haven't or don't upgrade to XP OS. IT is a huge leap forward towards a crash proof OS not to mention better more advanced components like win mp etc.etc.. I used to crash regularly with 98 and millenium. Don't mean to to sound like a commercial just the difference is so huge. Just check out any P2P and flip Bill the bird.

      mcddy,

of course powerdvd plays avis, but it wouldnt be my first choice.
neither would i use any wmp later than 6.4

=> lack of ds-filter support and waste of system resources

as for XP: this OS is more stable, but it is quite restrictive in terms of codec/filter installation/usage.

M$ think they are the only ones capable of implementing decent codecs, though the opposite proves to be true every single day.
