I just recently purchased a new desktop system with a AMD Athlon processor (1.8 GHz) and Windows XP Home Edition installed. After installing all my usual DVD ripping applications (ie Flask, VirtualDub, etc.), I tried ripping and encoding several DVD's. However, what I got surprised me.
The result was video with the equivalent of what appeared to be "panes" across the screen. I am pretty sure that it isnt a problem of de-interlacing. I tried different settings and still got the same thing.
Here is some important information in regards to my setup:
Athlon 1.8 GHz Processor
512 MB RAM
Windows XP
FlaskMPEG
DivX 4.12
And I have tried both DivX 4.12 and 5.0 and have gotten the same result.
Is there some sort of new mechanism on the Windows XP system that makes it difficult to copy VOB files? or is this a simple problem that can be corrected easily otherwise?
I appreciate the assistance.
