Hi, im trying to make a stockpile of VHS tapes on my computer before they all degrade into a fuzzy mess of trash recordings, so i have been transfering them to my DV camera and then recording via firewire to my computer, the quality is excellent at the 720x480 DV resolution, so now i have been attempting to encode these files in DIVX. A 45 min show is around 420, 430mb. This is fine for me as far as size goes. However im having a problem after encoding. There seems to be a motion blur effect which i am not liking at all. When someone moves his arm quickly or if a vehicle passes by at high speed there is an annoying blur effect, this does not appear on dvd rips or on the source DV recording, here are my settings that i am currently using for my encoding.
Frame size: 512x384
KBPS: 1000
Bitrate: 1 Pass
Performance/Quality: Slow or Slowest, looks the same either way, medium creates colored overlay effect.
Keyframe interval: 300 frames.
Can anyone help? thanks.
