noone cares for the internal cropping routine - we care for quality routines (ever heard of avisynth?)
read the divx.com pages if you're looking for that way of cropping or take a look into the codecs options (that's what i consider basics - obviously you didnt even look at the *general parameters* tab in the divx pro version)
Obviously i heard about avisynth but i asked if i could do cropping using divx codec. If you still insist that this is EXPLAINED IN THE BASICS THEN SHOW ME WHERE.
An other thing But in my codec i have only 3 tabs
1> Post-Processing settings
2> Quality Settings
3> Help Page
If you don't care about cropping routines ,then others do and i can prove that for you, because some ppl have found that cropping is useful to get rid if black bars and get a fullscreen movie.I know that you can do it with various programs and even with gordian knot but my question was CAN YOU DO IT WITH THE DIVX CODEC Or XVID.
You have to do it when you choose the codec in the encoder. For example in virtual dub you do it when in the compression tab by double clicking on DivX5.

What do you mean by that .Can't i set the settings without calling up a program.
Okay. It's not that i don't know its becuase its not possible (99% sure). It can only be accessed through your encoder like i explained a few posts before. In gordian Knot goto:
