      hey UncasMs

I've alread red the basics right ,and to tell you the truth i'm fed up of reading them.

If you insist that my question is described in these so called basics ,then tell me were i can find my answer.

I know that cropping can be made using gordian knot but still
i don't know to make cropping using divx.

If you think this is listed in the basics then show me where otherwise you will show that you are a simple irritating guy.

        hey decryptit

noone cares for the internal cropping routine - we care for quality routines (ever heard of avisynth?)

read the divx.com pages if you're looking for that way of cropping or take a look into the codecs options (that's what i consider basics - obviously you didnt even look at the *general parameters* tab in the divx pro version)

Obviously i heard about avisynth but i asked if i could do cropping using divx codec. If you still insist that this is EXPLAINED IN THE BASICS THEN SHOW ME WHERE.

An other thing But in my codec i have only 3 tabs
          1> Post-Processing settings
          2> Quality Settings
          3> Help Page

If you don't care about cropping routines ,then others do and i can prove that for you, because some ppl have found that cropping is useful to get rid if black bars and get a fullscreen movie.I know that you can do it with various programs and even with gordian knot but my question was CAN YOU DO IT WITH THE DIVX CODEC Or XVID.

Ok then but do you know if this setting exists in this version.

You have to do it when you choose the codec in the encoder. For example in virtual dub you do it when in the compression tab by double clicking on DivX5.

What you are looking at is the decoder seetings (found it start-programs-divx-config.exe .....) not the encoding settings. You'll find this depending on the program you're using.

As a side note i recommend using the avisynth procedure as well.

Nope. I know no such way.

"Yes but selecting SMART CROP ALL WILL IT AVOID ALL THE BLACK BARS."

Yes but the system in not perfect, thus you need to look at the preview pane to adjust it slightly. However this is usually not needed.

btw, you are mixing two of your threads up.

divx codec. But don't worry i'm just experimenting that.

Okay. It's not that i don't know its becuase its not possible (99% sure). It can only be accessed through your encoder like i explained a few posts before. In gordian Knot goto:

                              options tab->divx 1st/2nd pass-> video tab-> crop
