i'm not convinced that a certain brand is to blame but rather a certain series of their hdd's

like i said, i have heard many IBM die out of the blue, and apart from those two maxtor drives i was talking about, i have two more big maxtor drives which did their job absolutely fine (so far )

try a WESTERN DIGITAL, u WILL be happy

if i ever have this problem again (hopefully not) i'll try western digital.

It could be the larger the hard drive capacity the more chance of it braking down

i'm not sure though
