Ok I did everything you said, I saved in as txt and the renamed it to avs and here is the error message I got:

    Avisynth open Failure:
Avisynth open Failure: DirectShowSource: Could not open as a video or audio

Video returned: C:\Brother Bear - No Way Out (Video)ss.rm
Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported

Audio returned: C:\Brother Bear - No Way Out (Video)ss.rm
Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported

I installed everything but I think I did not uninstall my realplayer and it said to do that
that may be the cause. directshowsource() needs directshow filters. uninstall both realplayer & realplayer alternative via control panel-->add/remove programs, reboot, re-install realplayer alternative

So than this means I won't have realplayer on my PC anymore only realplayer alternative?

that is correct; but since real alternative installs the necessary directshow filters, your rm files will play in any directshow player including wmp and mpc, and also directshowsource(). there's nothing special about realplayer anyway

your right lol. ok let me do these steps now, I got ride of realplayer and now I will reboot and try what you said again. I will let you know how it goes.

Also, should I do another .txt file just to be on the safe side? or use the same one?

Now the error message says this:

              Avisynth open failure:
              Script error: expected a , or )
              (C:\Disneymania2.avs, line 1, column 30)

              Anything from this?

                post your script exactly

did you include the quotation marks before and after the path? eg directshowsource("c:\movie.rm")

Yes I did. Here is what I put:

                  directshowsource("c:\disneymania 2 mega mix ss.rm")

I just did it now again and this came up again:

                  Avisynth open Failure:
Avisynth open Failure: DirectShowSource: Could not open as a video or audio

Video returned: C:\Brother Bear - No Way Out (Video)ss.rm
Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported

Audio returned: C:\Brother Bear - No Way Out (Video)ss.rm
Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported

                  but this time disneymania.

mencoder, TINRA. since mediacoder, suggested by uncas, is essentially a GUI for mencoder, it should work too

you didn't answer my question: are you able to play the file in wmp? directshowsource() relies on you being able to play the file in a dshow player, encoding usually runs smoothly when it can. if your pc can't play it then the codecs are screwed up on your system and a clean install is preferable.

as for mencoder, probably not something you will like to use, its cli. as uncas already suggested, try mediacoder.

I tried to play it on wmp and it won't work. however, I didn't do it with the directshowsource() I just tired to open it up to play it and it wouldn't work.

then neither will directshowsource(). rm dshow filters are screwed up on your system, solution is to manually unregister said filters & reinstall, but in your case it's just easier to use mediacoder, which has been suggested several times already
