which version of divx5 did you install?

you are aware that gk 0.26/0.27 should be used with divx 5.02?

Im having severe problems with GK and subs...they just wont display They are ripped off the dvd properly and Virtualdub seems to rip and covert them fine, but they aint there when the movie is encoded. *really* beginning to piss me off

sorry, i never like permanent subs thus no help from me with gk + vobsub.

i save subs textbased as SRT files and merge those srt files into the OGM container.

I havnt looked at ogm, mainly cuz Gordian Knot is perfect *other* than the subtitles thing....the frigging thing just will not work. Ive followed the GK guides to the letter, yet the subs dont get encoded. Any way i can try and burn the subs in after the movie is encoded?

SRT files can be laoded optionally with for example bsplayer (without using [the much better container] ogm) and if the avi-file name and the srt file name are identical (except for the extension of course) wmp should load the srt automatically.

Great Ripping but i have Interlace Problems

When i encode some of my movies there are interlace problems.. for example at step 3.3 when i go to find the end credits you can really see the lines running through everything.. and when i finish the movie i have some of the same lines.. is this an interlace problem? if so, how do i fix it?

                    Thanks

using gordianknot you could use an virtualdub deinterlacing filter like greedy hma.

try the search function and look for greedyhma - you should find postings dealing with this deinterlacer.

                        Hi,
I liked the guide it was very simple but it didnt work lol
I followed the instructions and repeated it 3 times just to make sure i didnt misread something.
In the end the result of the transcoding is 3 .avi files 3.95GB in Size!!! which cannot be played in anything!
Obviously I am doing something wrong.
Could the outhor of the guide please please help me, it would be really appreciated. Thx

                        Sam

pls go for the LATEST version of gordianknot, maybe you were using the old version with a NEW divx codec, which may not work

i havent used gordinaknot myself for ages, because i consider DVX the better tool, still you should be able to achieve decent results with gk.

I am trying DVX but when i load the .vob files I get a runtime error...

                              Why is that?

PS: I have tried various .vob files so it wasnt just a bad rip or something. And I have tried to rip them directly from dvx with DVD decrypter 3 but I still get the error...

Why cant it all be simple

                                Power Cutt!

I have got Gordian Knot to work and i have succesfully encoded about 10 DivX films but I have a problem...

I had finished the 1st-pass and it was 90% done the 2nd-pass when i had a power cutt!!!

I there any way to load the 1st-pass and continue with the second pass so i dont have to wait another 9 hours!!??!

                                Thanks
