    Getting Sound at playback louder than 100%?

    HI There!
    I have a problem with some divx-movies. They weren't recorder
    very loud and on my Laptop you can hardly hear any sound of
    that movies even if you turn up the volume to the max.
    So I liked to know if it is possible to get a divx-player or a tool
    which can turn up the volume more than 100% without encoding
    the whole movie again (So that just the playback is louder!).
    About 200-300% would be great!

    Hope you can help me!

    To get a better quality sound, the best solution is to extract the sound appart from video. Or, if you already have your divX movie, you can extract sound with VirtualDub.

    Then, in any audio editor (like CoolEdit for instance), you can amplify the sound the way you want. You can even normalize it, so you don't have to care about the percentage of dBs you have to apply.

    Then, when you have the perfect sound of your dreams, you just put it back in the video, using VirtualDub.

    Good luck...

        The latest version of VirtualDub provides the ability to increase volume (no equalization, simply increase volume. Just make sure you reset the "Video" dropdown to "Direct Stream Copying" and "Audio" dropdown to "Full Processing Mode".

        Let us know of your success ;>}
