    Same old freeze during playback

It seems that video freezes about 2 times in minute.
Audio plays ok, but video freezes about 2 sec and
    starts playing ok.

Same thing in 2 different computer.

AMD 1333, ATI AIW, 512Mb RAM.
    P4 1.6, GF4, 512Mb RAM

Both computer use nimo8 and mplayer6.4
    OS WinXP.

Try rebuilding the index of the offending file using Divfix. In addition, you might want to try uninstalling your Nimo codec and reinstalling it, this time checking ONLY those codecs that you need. Installing unnecessary codecs often results in undesirable conflicts.

      Aaargh.

Divfix won't help. The files are good. It worked for me
and my friend before. Somehow this problem started
when both of us formatted our pc and reinstalled
      everything.

Is this nimo8 broken or what in hell do this kind of
freezing ? I read old topics and find out that this
is not only us who have this problem.

      Nimo8 is c**p ?

I uninstalled nimo8 and install nimo7 only with minimun
necessary codecs. No help. Not. At. All.

      Dumnit.

Hmm. More info from our pc:s ->

We both have Norton av 2003 + Kerio firewall.

No, don't tell us to format, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......

Play a number of other videos and see whether the same trend is repeated or not. If so, then the problem does lie on your systems, in which case it seems either the codec(s) or the video cards are at fault.

For the video cards, the logical things to do would be to ensure that you are using the latest graphics driver, as well as having the motherboard AGP driver installed. Check that Hardware Acceleration is enabled to the max as well.

As for the codec, there are quite a number of possible solutions:
        1. Try Tsunami codec pack or even separate codec installers (The stand-alone DivX codec installer, for example)
        2. I'm not familiar with the newly released FFD Directshow (Hope I didn't misspell it ), but I didn't like the look of its decoding results. I suggest you avoid using it
        3. Use the Tsunami Priority patch (find it on the sticky threads in this forum) to prevent DivX 5.x from automatically playing back 3.11 contents. There are still problems with the codec 5.x trying to decode 3.11 contents

using the latest tsunami filterpack 3.9.6 will not require any priority patch any longer.

click on my upper anigif, load 3.9.6 and install it via custom routine (or whatever the option is called you'll find at the bottom)
