    Your Preferred Windows DivX Player

    hi all,

i would like to know what your favourite divx (avi) player is for windows systems?

i tend to use M$ WMP 6.4 most of the time cos it's nice & simple, what other good ones do you recommend? is the "official" divx alpha 2.0 player any good?

please feel free to share your experience. thanks.

    terry

p.s. apologies if this same question has been asked before...

      BSPLAYER on my laptop
YEAHPLAYER and YAHOOPLAYER on my archaic p200 PC

Those are the three players I like.

WMP 6.4 and PowerDivX. I gave BSPlayer a try and it is another excelent, light-weight player too.

Where can I download PowerDivx. I tried BSplayer and really liked it campared to what I was used to (WMP) but I can't find out where to download PowerDivx. I tried the link to the PowerDivx official website off of this website but I just got redirected to a PowerDivx forum.

            PLaying DivX w/ mediaplayer

DivX Player Alpha sucks dirty gyppo cock.

Didn't know there were any other players. Going to look for them now

Meanwhile... you know the way there are 2 mediaplayers one is the default and the other has a toolbar and video in seperate windows. Well the default one has problems were it plays every single frame from the DivX file which means that it lags behind the audio. and the other one (which i would prefer to use) doesn't play the sound. Any1 got any ideas on how to help me, a sad DivX noob?

            Ta.

What are those players called? Are they WMP 8 (assuming you are running WinXP) and WMP 6.4?

                    Bsplayer is excellent thnx ppl.

Enchanter..i'm using wmp6.4 (i think. if there was 6.7 i've got that. if there wasn't i've got 6.4) but theres 2 diff versions (at least in win98 there is.

One loads up in just one window with the controls and the video and menus all on one window. This is the default one for when u click on a movie or mp3.

The other one has the menus and controls in one window and then when u load in a video file it displays it in a seperate window a la bsplayer.

But who cares. Got bsplayer now and it is excellent.

                          yr ma (smell her)

i think the best thing to do would be; format yr hard drive and install win98se. Then yr computer won't be cak.

What are you getting at? While Win98 remains the choice with many gamers, I'm sticking with WinXP (or at least Win2K) for their stability and latest support. It would be complete folly to reformat my computer and install Win98, hoping that it would outperform and run better than WinXP.

Used TwinVideoPlayer for a long time (for the playlist), than noticed mplayer2 works just as well for single files, and lately I abandoned that too in favor of the simple-no-option-just-display ActiveMovie (that's the core of any video player I guess). But yeah, I'll try BSPlayer as most of you suggest.
