I have read all of the other threads and have uninstalled all of my codecs, just reinstalled xvid, reinstalled other codecs and no matter what I install or uninstall, I still get a blurry green mess and blocks whenever I view and video encoded with xvid. I have also gone through my explorer and deleted any files associated with codecs. Are there any other suggestions for what I can do to correct this problem.
Still having xvid viewing problem...

Instead of getting separate codecs (which i assume is what you got) get a codec pack - preferably NimoCodec Pack or Tsunami codec pack. Both work fine and should resolve your issues.Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

possible solution
I had the same problem and I found that if I uninstall all codecs and install xvid first and then run the film the picture is sweet. if I put nimo codec back on it's back to green and blocky. Works fine combined with divx 5.02 though.Last edited by barry; 8 Dec 2002, 01:05 AM.Comment

i'm familiar with the xvid playback problem (green blurry mess) and the solution to this is very simple:
just download and install the ffdshow filter from SourceForge:
Free, secure and fast downloads from the largest Open Source applications and software directory - SourceForge.net
the latest file is called: ffdshow-20020617.exe
keep your xvid and nimo codec pack installed! just add the ffdshow filter on top.
cheers! divxbloomComment
