I downloaded the lord of the rings the two towers but it doesnt work. It is an .avi file. Please someone tell me a program that can be used to watch this!

The two sets of information don't quite agree with each others, don't you think? However, let's suppose the second set (the more recent one) is true, you have got yourself a fake movie, judging from the slideshow-like frame rate of 3, no video compression and the absence of any audio stream.

I would just like to add that even if the file were real, it would have been bad quality, considering the rips of LOTR:TTT are only cams.

This isn't necessarily true.

While most rips are cams, you will sometimes find a rip that is the actual movie - the academy receives copies of the movie for screening before the awards, and sometimes (most of the time) these get leaked.

This happened with the first LOTR movie.

Yes indeed, but when IT IS a good quality screener (mostly dvd-screeners) they have "screener" somewhere in the name, and they most certainly do not have a (tmW) prefix.

My friend has the dvd version of this movie on cd, and when he brought it to my house, it would not right on my 16x9 Widescreen HDTV, but then on a full screen tv it worked fine. I am taking that it was not encoded to work right on my type of tv. IS there a way I can take these 4 discs, and spend the time so I can make it work on a Widescreen TV. I really want to take out the time to do this please help me.

Well I have other SVCD cds (I own the dvd also). in bin .cue and have this same problem. any ideas? not warez at all

when the filesize = 119 MB
dont expect to have a descent movie
really.....

good quality divx = 1.5 hour in 700 MB
good quality mpg = 1.0 hour in 800 Mb (700 Mb cd)

otherwise dont bother getting it

Most likely it is only part 1 or part 2.

How is it NOT warez? I know which copy of TTT you're talking about, and the real dvd release is coming out after august. Unless you're talking about the fellowship of the ring dvd, although this thread is about the two towers.
