Is there a prog to normalize in realtime during Divx playback?

Problem: DVD rip without normalized audio with extremely low volume.

Theoretical Solution: Use a program that can normalize and boost volume in realtime while the movie is playing back.

    Does such a program exist?

Thanks for any help you have to offer.

"Use a program that can normalize and boost volume in realtime "

Why can't you just increase the volume in the player that youre watching the movie on?

      Still not enough volume

Tried that. It's not enough to make a difference.

Well i haven't had any problems of the sort, but I remember other users also asking about this, so search the forum for "increase volume" or something of the sort

PRACTICAL Solution: Extract the audiostream and use an audio editor such as GoldWave or CoolEdit to both normalize and increase the volume. As an alternative to these full-blown audi editors, you could use one of the several audio tools available at the DivX Digest link (at the top of this page)...

Hey thanks for the replies everyone. Although your suggestions are good ones, I was hoping to find something that didn't require any editing of anything. It doesn't seem impossible to have a program running that does these things. I mean, look at Sound Blaster Live! It can add effects in realtime. Echos, chorus, reverb, etc. Maybe there is a program that can normalize (or compress if you're talking analog) and boost volume in realtime, but it's hard to find. Who knows...

              Thanks,
              ACQ

There is a great feature in BSPlayer, it can use Winamp DSP plugins. Just activate it in Audio Preferences and you can use any
winamp dsp plugins. This works fine for me, there are many of boosting and normalizing plugins on their site. Doesn't work for AC3, but with InterVideo filters volume level of AC3 tracks is very good I think.
