Some of my AVI's are larger than 700 mb and this is too large to place onto a normal CD-R. Is there a program which will scale down the size of my AVI's so i can place them onto cd's?

Virtualdub if fully compatible with the XVID codecs.
The reason why you can't open the xvid files in virtualdub/nandub or virtualdubmod is because you don't have the xvid codec installed. NOTE: FFDSHOW (available in most codec packs) can playback XVID content in media player that use directshow filters, but Virtualdub requires a VFW compatible codec. So, install the xvid codec.Comment
