    AVI File Size Compression

Some of my AVI's are larger than 700 mb and this is too large to place onto a normal CD-R. Is there a program which will scale down the size of my AVI's so i can place them onto cd's?

still above 700mb, i dont really want to cut any of the film off though, isn't there a way of decreasing the quality to minimize file size?

Virtualdub wont load my film anyway as it cannot load films encoded with xvid. Says it wont work with directshow codecs.

Virtualdub if fully compatible with the XVID codecs.

The reason why you can't open the xvid files in virtualdub/nandub or virtualdubmod is because you don't have the xvid codec installed. NOTE: FFDSHOW (available in most codec packs) can playback XVID content in media player that use directshow filters, but Virtualdub requires a VFW compatible codec. So, install the xvid codec.

I would refrain from installing the NIMO CODEC PACK, just do a search and you can see some of the problems that it has caused. Instead, do a custom install of the codec from the TSUNAMI CODEC PACK, or install it seperatley.
