    got latest directx? latest ATI (catalyst 5.10) drivers? which player do you use? try using 'media player classic' which you can also get at http://www.free-codecs.com

    it could very well be a hardware problem, but i advise you to stay away from all codec packs...

      ok try this site for another codec pack www.cole2k.net
      but personally though I would only install the codecs I intend to use.
      by the way does your system play divx without any of these symptoms?
      And out of curiosity what player do you use?

        Well I took out my graphics card and put it into my friends computer. He was running a Radeon 9800 PRO. The green squares appeared on his videos as well. So I know now it is the video card at fault. I got a 30 day replacement guarentee Im going to follow up. Thanks for you help.
