Windows XP

I was wondering if there was an equivalent codec of 3.11 alpha for Windows XP. I tried it out but it doesn't seem to be compatible and windows saids it has a newer file so I don't know if thats the problem. I already tried divx 5.03, ffdshow, and couple others but some of these movie files I have are not working (pretty sure its cause the 3.11 was not installed). Or is 3.11 supposed to work with XP??? Anyone please, I need some help...

ffdshow as well as divx5 should be able to play your file(s)
